DIWPA is an international network for the promotion of cooperative studies and information exchange on biodiversity in the Western Pacific and Asia, under a close cooperation with its mother program, DIVERSITAS, organized by ICSU, IUBS, SCOPE and UNESCO. One of functions of DIWPA is capacity building of scientists in particular young scientists from developing countries.

EDIT is the collective answer of 29 leading European, North American and Russian institutions to a call of the European Commission, issued in 2004, for a network in 竕ェ Taxonomy for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research 竕ォ. EDIT European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy and other international partners established a European state-of-the art School of Taxonomy: the Distributed European School of Taxonomy (DEST) in order to transfer knowledge between current and future generations of taxonomists. DEST provides a high quality training that prepares students for future taxonomic careers.
